1. What is your background ?
Ship
Studio was funded in april
2000 by Laurent Mermier, former deputy technical director of "Leroux et
Lotz
Naval". Our engineers and planners have several years of experience as
employees, technicians and managers in both shipbuilding and
inland waterway vessel construction.
2. How many of you are there ?
The
company has a permanent staff of 10. We work with a partners network
which provides us up to 20 engineering specialists force.
3. Do you belong to a group ?
No, Ship Studio is an independant company, privately owned by 3 people.
4. Do you have overseas experience ?
Yes,
we work on a regular basis with foreign shipbuilders in North Africa, Middle-East (U.A.E)
and Oceania. our working languages are French and English.
5. Do you oversee the implementation of your designs ?
Yes,
we often oversee construction. We also sometimes assist the shipbuilder with organizational interface
management, planning and construction aspects.
6. Do you work on your own premises or provide technical assistance on the client's premises ?
We establish a fixed price service package and therefore work on our own premises.
7. How do you manage relations with classification and flag organizations ?
We deal with approval of our drawings and calculations by
the classification society and the flag authority.
